The Moonies 03:33
The Moonies If the moonies knock to your door, asking for wine and for more, dont open and make them leave or they will come back, and you’ll give Your heart to the moonies, they will bite inside and smile, blood flowing from their mouth, and stealing from your house. Oh the world belongs to the moonies They do everything just as they please Throwing bottles in your garden Cause they love what’s forbidden Confess you want to be a part of it. They dream their Life in colors They live like there’s no tomorrows And when they find you at your doors In their eyes no sorrows

The Race It’s 6 in the morning And Im ready for the good time Blue sky sun is shining People going to the starting line I close my eyes And see the road Feel the wind And pray for god Its a long race My car is special Daddy say It could be hard But it’s okay Hay on the way down One hour I’ll be gone You got to turn boy Right or left Got to feel the joy And celebrate That’s your day boy Overtake And win the prize Your mother will be proud Brakes failed then I crashed my car See the Wheels keep on turning Feel dizzy hurts so badly Got to improve my driving So I close my eyes And see the road Feel the wind And Pray for god It was a short race Car was special Daddy said Could have been harder But its okay Hay on the way down Next time be better son

Buildings 02:31
Buildings There was fields all round Cows and sweet sounds Like the rooster singing And the bells were ringing There was big trees and a pond Some ducks you could have found And a goose and her cubs It was life in the suburbs Buildings up above Nothing left and what you loved It s all Gone in a dream Such a long time it seems Children playing in the grass A peasant kicking their ass They have stolen his cherries Breaking some branches of his trees

We Are Four Generations Father John was a carpenter An husband and a soldier He was so serious But not so pious His eyes were blue his gaze was sharp and true Granny she was a good girl See Met John at the bakery She looks like a pearl Among all the pastries seven children was her feat of arms No Pity, no emptiness They were happy, no distress Life in the fifties sweet caress Baby come dancing in your new dress Papa John was so handsome Gave you smile if you want some He was not so serious his wife was furious Like a goddess she was So High in the sky In my eyes, the narrow sea The blue bridge I love tenderly The mountains green, the place I’ve been Such a long time ago Built a home for my own two sons Carried stone after stone I planted trees took care of bees And start a new life I made sacrifices But I’m proud of what I did I sometimes missed a thing But I’m happy when I see you kids Hold my hand I’m a Vagabond In the band Playing your James Bond And I’m surprised And mesmerized I’ll go blind If I look at your kind We went far But We found no star We came back On the track We were two And now were four Leave the blue And open the door Baby I dont know if the world is safe enough But believe me when I say life is sometimes soft When I look at you in the morning When I told you a story or when we sing Baby I’dont know if your future will be bright But believe me you’ll always have me at your side When I thing of you I’m hopeful You make the world shine with your soul It’s all about the fourth generation

about

Vissenty is a district of the modest town of Annonay. This is where my grandparents lived, my parents, and where I live today. Like a photo album, the songs tell the story of a "vie sentie" (life felt) over four generations, mixing fiction and reality, like Penny Lane or Strawberry Fields Forever. It's all about a school, a soapbox race, growing urbanization ... but also fantasized memories of a French Laurel Canyon, the source from which these songs sprang.
